SEO Copywriting

Search-friendly copy that nobody wants to read is not search-friendly. We write for the customer first, and the algorithm second.

There are two ways to write SEO copy. The first is to stuff a target keyword into a thin page until Google notices it. That worked in 2008 and stopped working in 2014, although a depressing number of agencies still try it. The second is to find what the customer is actually looking for, write something that genuinely answers the question, and let the keyword work flow from there. We do the second, and we’ve been doing it long enough that we don’t have to think about it as a method any more. It’s just how we write.

What we write

  1. Service pages.
The bread and butter of B2B and SME websites. We write the long-form, sales-led pages that turn search visitors into enquiries.
  2. Sector and location pages.
The “civil engineering Birmingham” or “veterinary practice Wolverhampton” pages, written without sounding like spun text.
  3. Blog and editorial.
Pillar articles that earn links, plus the supporting cluster pieces that internally link back to them.
  4. Product pages.
Ecommerce copy that answers the question and removes the friction.
  5. Help and information pages.
The pages that earn featured snippets and “people also ask” placements.

How we work

Every project starts with a keyword and intent map. We agree the topic, the search intent, the target reader, and the outcome we want from the page. Then we write the first draft. Then you mark it up. We don’t take it personally.

We charge per page, with the price agreed up front by length and complexity.

Volume discounts on packs of ten or more. Charity rates available.

Common questions about SEO copywriting

Do you use AI to write the copy?

No. We use AI for research and to check our work. Every word that ships under your name is written by a human writer with a name on the door.

How much does it cost per page?

Service pages typically £400 to £900 depending on length and research depth. Pillar articles £1,200 to £2,400. Volume discounts available.

Will you write to my voice and tone?

Yes. We start with a voice and tone session if you don’t already have a guide, and produce one as a deliverable if useful.

How quickly can you turn copy round?

First draft of a service page in five working days. Pillar pieces in two weeks.
