SEO that earns its place
Search is the most competitive channel in the UK marketing mix. Every business in your sector wants the same first page. Some of them have been buying their way up with cheap links and AI-spun content. That doesn’t work any more. Google’s job is to identify the genuinely useful answers and put them at the top, and the algorithm has got better at that than most agencies have caught up with.
We earn rankings the slow way and the right way. Real content, real authority, real technical health. The audit-led process below is how every SEO project starts, and the pages that follow cover the specific sub-disciplines.
SEO Process
Good SEO is not a mystery, it is a method. Here is exactly how we run it.
Plenty of agencies are vague about what they actually do all month, because vague is harder to hold to account. We are the opposite. Every retained SEO engagement runs through the same nine steps, from the opening audit and keyword strategy through on-page and technical work, local optimisation, content and link building, to monthly reporting and a quarterly strategy review. The deeper the package, the deeper each step goes, but the structure never changes, so you always know what you are paying for and what is coming next. Read the full nine-step process and you will understand more about how SEO works than most business owners ever get told.
Technical SEO
A website that’s beautiful and useless is a poster, not a sales tool. We design for both.
Technical SEO is the part most agencies skim because most clients don’t ask about it. We don’t skim it. The structural health of a website is the floor that everything else stands on. Get it right and your content has a chance. Get it wrong and you’re paying for marketing that runs into a brick wall. The list below is the typical scope of a technical SEO engagement with us, but every project starts with an audit so we can tell you which of these you actually need.
Local SEO
When a customer in your town searches for your service, you want to be the first result, not the seventh.
Local search is where most UK SMEs win or lose. Eight in ten people who run a “near me” search go on to act within twenty-four hours, and Google now prioritises the local pack and Google Maps over the traditional ten blue links for any query with local intent. If you’re not on the first map page, you don’t exist for that customer. Local SEO is not a quick win you can get in a fortnight, but the gains are durable and they compound.
Website Audits
Before you spend money fixing your website, find out what’s actually wrong with it.
A website audit is the cheapest, smartest first step before any project. It tells you where you stand, what’s working, what’s broken, and what would give you the biggest return on the next pound you spend. We’ve been running audits for over twenty years, and we’ve refined a process that is rigorous enough to be useful, fast enough to be affordable, and short enough that you’ll actually read it.
SEO Copywriting
Search-friendly copy that nobody wants to read is not search-friendly. We write for the customer first, and the algorithm second.
There are two ways to write SEO copy. The first is to stuff a target keyword into a thin page until Google notices it. That worked in 2008 and stopped working in 2014, although a depressing number of agencies still try it. The second is to find what the customer is actually looking for, write something that genuinely answers the question, and let the keyword work flow from there. We do the second, and we’ve been doing it long enough that we don’t have to think about it as a method any more. It’s just how we write.
Google Analytics & Search Console Setup
A website without analytics is a shop with the lights off. You can’t tell who’s coming in, who’s leaving, or what they actually want.
Most websites we audit have Google Analytics installed and not much else. The default install gives you a fraction of what you need, and the GA4 transition broke a lot of the dashboards businesses were relying on. We set up Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console properly, with the events, conversions and dashboards you actually need to make decisions. If you’re already using GA4 but you don’t trust the numbers, we can audit and rebuild what’s there.
SEO Packages & Pricing
Three packages, fixed monthly fees, no twelve-month tie-ins. Pick the one that fits, change up or down at any time.
Most agencies bury their pricing or refuse to publish anything until they’ve put you through a discovery call. We don’t, because the most common question we get from new prospects is “what does this actually cost”. Below are our three SEO packages with the monthly fee, the included scope, and a plain English description of who each one suits. If your situation doesn’t match any of them, ask. We do bespoke too, and the bespoke quote is fixed in writing.
